Bella Coola Heli Sports operates in the glaciated wilderness of BC’s central coast. We provide world-class skiing in the winter, and connect our guests with incredible wilderness adventures in the summer. We operate from five remote properties, three of which are in the Tatla Lake region of the Chilcotin’s and two which are in the Bella Coola valley, we also offer a unique product based on a catamaran in the local inlets. We boast a huge heliskiing tenure and our Himalayan like mountains draw outdoor enthusiasts from around the world.
Position Overview
Guide local and international clients through backcountry ski terrain and safari. Provide instructions for activities. Ensure guests safety.
Works and cooperates closely with the Assistant Area Manager and all members of the guiding team.
Trains and mentors Apprentice Heli-Ski/Wilderness Guides. Provide coaching, as appropriate.
Govern the conduct in the mountains of yourself and all people entrusted to your care in a manner that minimizes risk while maximizing the quality of the experience.
Be friendly, courteous, and respectful in interacting with your guests. Ensure their safety, comfort, and enjoyment on and off the hill. Be sensitive to individual needs, while respecting personal space.
Have a thorough working knowledge and competence in all technical systems associated with the operation. Participate in annual training to refresh and upgrade these skills.
Be thoroughly familiar with all written procedures and guidelines that govern the operation, and act in accordance with them always.
Be physically well prepared and fit throughout the season. Conserve your own energies and prioritize how they are applied to your work so that you can function optimally given the considerable demands.
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
Education: ACMGSkiGuide,MountainGuide,orCSGALevel3Certification.
Experience: Minimumof2years’experienceasaleadheliskiguide.
